Two verses in Leviticus have authorized a harsh rejection of homosexuality. But why?  Rules cannot be intelligently and fairly applied without as sense of their intended aims. Rabbi Steven Greenberg will explore four rationales for the biblical prohibition of sex between men which appear in the traditional literature, each offering a different perspective and a different frame for a reconsideration of the law’s application.
