Todd Nachowitz

Todd is a lecturer in Comparative Religion in the Religious Studies department at the University of Waikato, teaching classes in both Western/Abrahamic and Eastern faith traditions). He is also the Centre Coordinator of the Religious Diversity Centre, based in Auckland, where he regularly teaches evening Adult Education classes on the world’s main faith and belief traditions, and conducts Professional Development seminars and workshops on Religious Diversity. Todd completed his BA in South Asian Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) in 1984, his MA in Development Anthropology at Syracuse University (New York, USA) in 1991, and his PhD in Political Science and Public Policy at the University of Waikato in 2015, in which he proposed an alternative framework for diversity governance. Todd lived and worked in India, Pakistan and Nepal for over a decade before moving to New Zealand in 1995, and has taught both Hindi and Urdu at the university level in the United States. He is also the Secretary of the Waikato Interfaith Council (WIFCO), and a member of the Executive Committee of the Waikato Jewish Association.
